Meet the team

Nikki Strah

Doctoral Student, co-advised with Dr. Deborah Rupp

Nikki graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in communication in 2015. Her research interests revolve around gender equality in the workforce, diversity, the intersection between psychology and law (particularly as it pertains to diversity issues), and organizational justice.

Meaghan Tracy

Doctoral Student

Meaghan graduated from the Purdue University with a B.S. in Brain and Behavioral Sciences and minors in Human Resource Management and Forensic Science in 2020. Her current research interests include individual differences (i.e. gender, personality, socioeconomic status, etc) and their effect on the job experience of the employee (i.e. stress, burnout, motivation, etc). In addition, she’s interested in the function of using HR practices, such as recruitment, selection and training, within high-stress jobs and the use of these practices to prevent negative experiences on the job.

Hyun Joo Shin

Lab Manager

Hyun graduated from Purdue University with B.S. in Computer Science in 2019. Her principal research interest is the personality measurement and analysis through Natural Language Processing (NLP). Currently, she is working in Dr. Song's lab and participating in multiple Machine Learning projects.

Amel Chekili

Research Assistant

Amel is an undergraduate student majoring in Brain and Behavioral Sciences at Purdue University. She is particularly interested in research about selection. Amel's goal is to go to graduate school and specialize in I-O psychology and hopefully work on projects that will help optimize the selection processes.

Chen Tang

Affiliated Doctoral Student

Chen is currently a Ph.D. student at the School of Labor and Employment Relations, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests mainly cover personnel selection, people analytics, individual career development and change, and business ethics.

Louis Hickman

Affiliated Doctoral Student

Louis has his M.S. in Computer and Information Technology from Purdue University, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. His research focuses on the impacts that technology, and more specifically, machine learning and artificial intelligence have on work.
