Meet the team

Meaghan Tracy

Doctoral Student

Meaghan graduated from Purdue University in May of 2020 with a B.S. in Psychological Sciences and minors in HRM and Forensic Science. She is currently a second-year graduate student within the Recruitment and Selection lab and the Industrial-organizational PhD program at Purdue. Her research focuses on individuals' work experiences in a variety of work contexts. This includes, but is not limited to, the effect of concepts such as person-environment fit and individual differences on key work outcomes within new ways of working.

Lillian Kim

Lab Manager/Research Associate

Lillian graduated from Amherst College in 2021 with a B.A. in Psychology. She has been primarily interested in gender and the specific perceptions and prejudice directed towards groups with diverse identities. Currently, she is working in Dr. Song's lab and expanding her research interests to using data science and machine learning methodologies to understand and enhance diversity issues in organizations.

George Zola Goldfarb

Research Assistant

George is a Senior at Purdue University, majorying in Brain and Behavioral Science and minoring in Human Resources. He is particularly interested in the topics of employee motivators, diversity, and the application of different HR practices. After Purdue, George plans to go to graduate school to pursue these studies and interests.

Hope Museck

Research Assistant

Hope is currently a Senior at Purdue double majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Psychological Sciences and Pre-Dental concentration. She is looking forward to building upon my research skills through this lab and learning more about the Industrial Psychology field.

Nakul Upadhya

Research Assistant

Nakul is a Senior at Purdue University majoring in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Computer Science and Management. His primary interests include operational improvements through analytics and personality assessment through Natural Language Processing.

Leo Alexander III

Affiliated Doctoral Student

Leo is a Ph.D. student of industrial and organizational psychology at Rice University. Leo currently works with Fred Oswald in the Organization & Workforce Lab (OWL) studying psychological testing, psychometrics, quantitative research methodology, and personnel selection. His research focuses on how advances in technology (e.g., big data analytics, web-based technologies) are affecting personnel selection, and how technology may be used to increase fairness and diversity in selection decisions.

Chen Tang

Affiliated Doctoral Student

Chen is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Labor and Employment Relations, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, working with Dr. Daniel A. Newman. His research interests mainly cover personnel selection, people analytics, individual career development and change, and business ethics.

Nikki Strah

Former Doctoral Student, co-advised with Dr. Deborah Rupp; Currently Post-Doctoral Fellow at George Mason University

Nikki received Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Purdue University in 2021, advised by Dr. Deborah Rupp and Dr. Chelsea Song. Her research interests revolve around gender equality in the workforce, diversity, the intersection between psychology and law (particularly as it pertains to diversity issues), and organizational justice. Nikki is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the George Mason University, working with Dr. Deborah Rupp.

Louis Hickman

Former Affiliated Doctoral Student; Currently Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania

Louis received Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Purdue University in 2021, working with Dr. Louis Tay. His research focuses on the impacts that technology, and more specifically, machine learning and artificial intelligence have on work. Louis is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, working with Dr. Angela Duckworth.

Hyun Joo Shin

Former Lab Manager; Currently Masters Student in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University

Hyun graduated from Purdue University in 2019 with B.S. in Computer Science. She is primarily interested in personality measurement and analysis through Natural Language Processing (NLP). After her experience as a lab manager/research associate in the lab for two years, Hyun moved on to further pursue her research interests as a master's student in Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University.
